Exploring Roles in the ECE Community: Local and State Levels
The three local or state organizations or communities of practice that appealed to me are:
1. California Department of Education. http://www.cde.ca.gov/index.asp

3. Child Development Training Consortium.

The reason why I chose these organizations is because they are very strong resources for my area that I can use for my Community of Practice. They all represent early childhood education in one form or another, and point to many other beneficial resources.
The current job opportunities that interest me are working for the local community college as an instructor. They also have a child development center on site that is looking for a site supervisor. My passion is to go back to where I got my education and start. I was a single mom when I started my educational journey and I had many people help me along the way. A big part of my journey was spent at the community college. I learned so much from my courses and from the events that they offered with regard to early childhood education. My mentor works there and I feel this is where I would like to pursue my career.
The skills and experience I would need to competently fulfill being an instructor is a Master’s degree in child development, early childhood education. The skills and experience I would need for the site supervisor is a bachelor's degree in child/human development and a site supervisor permit.
